Antiford's Anthem by Kayleen Glover

History circa 2009
While Sam was doing a .hack role playing forum and Meghan was doing awesome things in an interfaith group, they were both involved in Keene State’s anime club. This led them to see such films as Steamboy, and internet culture led them to the steampunk aesthetic.
With Sam’s .hack fanfiction forum coming to an end, he was eager for more opportunities to do collaborative fiction. With the help of their friend India, Meghan and Sam started the “Tales of Antiford” forum. This was a small forum with few posts, but it led to some great tea parties and real life discussions.
In 2010, Another Anime Convention hosted something phenomenal which changed the course of this small-time group of creative amateurs forever, steampunk panels. The steampunk community, The Wandering Legion in particular, reached out to people at anime conventions, explaining steampunk, how to get into it and where the community was.
In other words, we discovered there were more people who actively talked about, created, cosplayed, and enjoyed steampunk.
That sealed our fate. With India moving on to other geeky passions, our two intrepid heroes joined up with Justin, Kelsey, and later Kendall, for more world-building shenanigans and steampunk/anime convention travels: as their personas, as a group. These individuals helped continue the evolution of the world, all of us pooling our talents together.
We started to get serious about creating a truly encompassing world to create characters and stories within. We formed a business to better support our community projects.
A few members have come and gone, become more or less casual participants, but the core today is always dedicated and still involves the original creative architects. The website, as you can see, has moved on from a prebuilt forum to a homegrown creative world-building site of wonder and has improved to encompass the whole gambit of immersion into the world of Orr where Antiford resides.
Many people have moved to Antiford and elsewhere on Orr. They've made a creative home for themselves, some of them as their first steampunk character, others as one of their many characters.
This is where your story begins.
