Cryptid Theories

So, I would love you guys forever if you could help me come up with some cryptids that aren't too fantastical... So far, I have the Crocotta, which is slightly larger than your average hyena and mimics human screams. I want dark animals like that. I already have another one on a similar level, but I don't want to spoil the surprise. :) Justin (Phinneus) suggested Big Foot, or a Big Foot like animal. However, seeing as Rilain likes going after animals with tails, I thought it might be strange for her to go after something that doesn't have one... Any and all suggestions are welcome!
