There has been a handful of updates:
- New "Dashboard" as logged-in homepage
- Directory Statuses (more accessible than ever)
- Following other citizens (notifications)
- "Read Later" and other library lists
- A torrent of encyclopedia work
- Games page moved to citizensofantiford.itch.io
- Future work?
Read onward the following pages to learn more.
Dashboard
The first thing any member does after logging in is immediately leave the home page. It wasn't much use to you as a place to be. All your news was elsewhere. So, I've now added a "dashboard".
You'll still have access to the top announcements carousel, but instead of shortcuts to the other pages, you now have what's new, right at your fingertips.
First up, taken out of the settings, is your status message (shown on directory, see next page) for you to easily update.
Then, your notifications are there.
The new library lists feature follows, for the easiest means to access them of any.
For the next couple sections, clicking on the heading text will take you to a more full sized view in the library itself for each.
You'll get a list of all your unpublished library works next, so you can just right back into that draft.
The latest postings in the library are on display next to the latest updates from encyclopedia.
Statuses
So you've now seen the blue status speech bubble you can update on the dashboard (and in settings). Where do these go to? The Directory!
Just hover over (or tap and drag on top of) the small blue speech bubbles on a profile to reveal the status text.
Follow a Citizen
You need or want more notifications? Just can't miss out when your favorite author on the site posts their next update? Follow them!
Just click the bell in the upper right corner of anyone's profile. You'll get updates on new library posts and edits the author has decided are notable enough to notify you.
Library Lists
Most exciting to me are the new "lists" in the library. These should feel familiar to anyone who's used playlists/"watch later" on video sites like YouTube.
Simply go to any library piece, click the lists menu near hat tipso and check off the lists you'd like the story to appear in.
When managing lists, you can click the pencil icon button to go into edit mode where you can rearrange, rename, and change the publicity of the list. Don't forget to hit save!
The slash-through eyeball means private, the globe means public. Remember that unpublished pieces are hidden for public lists.
Hopefully this makes it easier for folks to manage what they want to read, how they recommend or compile arcs, and much more. I look forward to browsing everyone's public lists!
Ongoing Encyclopedia Improvements

Or the encyclopedia front, we've really dove into our big action items list we'd been accruing since we created the templates for how we'd like information to be presented.
Additionally, we've got more artwork! Animal drawings come from our talented Abigail B Cormac.
Notable updates include:
- Sidebar info expanded across the board
- Gun companies broken into separate entries
- Vibranni tribes now each have an entry under "Countries & Tribes"
- Political parties added and linked to their countries
- Links to other entries galore
- More "major contributor" recognitions
- New entries on various Titanian animals, Diesel, Ofandyr's Feast, the Automated Railcar Inventory System, and more!
Video Games
Or old video games page on the site was a gigantic link saying "go to our itch page" followed by the two pages talking about our two game jam events.
Now, I have greatly improved the content and look of our official profile on itch to describe our group, games, and two game jams, with links to the jam pages.
In addition, I have gotten permission from the 2015 jam game creators that we had listed (and we already made the 2016 entrees give us permission way back) to publish their jam prototype games an itch itself.
I'm currently in the process of determining with projects should go up and what extra "how to run/controls/etc" details need to be provided with them.
You can look forward to more folks getting to experience a "Darude class sandstorm" or see a virtual Denbolt.
Future Work?
The updates will be slowing down for at least a little while on the website features front. A majority of these were things discussed with the group long ago and finally implemented now.
I hope to have discussions with the group at a meeting in the future about how we want Antiford's next major updates to go. How we want our site to push us into the future.
But for now, use the features, enjoy. And as always, let me know if anything isn't working for you.
But the site, the world, and the encyclopedia? Let's keep this momentum going everybody, I love it!
