Ranks

1. Chief Commander

2. Department Chief

3. Police Captain

4. Police Lieutenant

5. Police Sergeant

6. Policeman/Policewoman (Bobby)

Bobby

The lowly Bobby is usually trained in all laws and is forced to interact with his or her fellow citizens in Antiford. Only four police departments are in Antiford: Gearford, Argenstrath, Whitehaven, and Sorditudo.

A Bobby goes to one of these locations for training (usually the three large cities) and is then instated as a young Police officer (known as a Bobby). Bobbies serve their city in many aspects of daily life.

One of the requirements of Bobbies is that once or twice a year a Bobby will go on “tour”. When on “tour”, they are assigned to a town or several towns in which they will act as the local law enforcement. They may have an office or a small jail in which to enforce the law, but mainly most criminals or inquiries they will handle will end up being referred back to the closest department. A young officer of the law may wish to request a city or town (as most request their home towns) and stay there “permanently”. Also, Bobbies can request multiple “tours” or lengthen a tour if they wish. Many Bobbies spend their entire career on tour, or until they find a town or city they feel comfortable at. Usually, a member of a small town will go to the big city to join the force, and then permanently volunteer for “tour” at their home town. Volunteering for extended tour usually permits extra benefits, like the choice of location.

Officer

This is the next step is into a position of service into one of command. The lowest Police Officer rank is by far the most common. A Police Sergeant is usually when someone decides Police service is for them, and they commit themselves to their training and education. Sergeants are often in command over recruits, and usually end up trainers. They are also group leaders when on tours or when partaking in police engagements. The sergeant is also still considered a low level of Police Officer.

The Lieutenant is the next rank. Often taking a long time to achieve, a Lieutenant must first be decorated in some form and then pass a law exam. Lieutenants often are assigned a department and give all their efforts to it. A Lieutenant on tour usually is given a region, and he hops from town to town. They are in charge of reporting their district or region to their Captain.

A Police Captain is usually in charge of an entire branch of his department or a large region. They are experts of their area or force, and are often internal disciplinarians. Captains also begin the process of dealing with press and organizing political and federal event security. They also end up being in charge of training for recruits and officers.

A Department Chief is the top rank. He is in control of his entire city department. He would make public appearances and be important in ceremonies. He would decide budgets and lead investigations of treason within his city borders. They report only to the Police Chief Commander.

Chief Commander

The Chief Commander is in charge of all the departments. He is in charge of ensuring that laws and regulations are being carried out across Antiford and in the same way. He tries to bring unity to the departments. He gets a say in most major changes to the Policing Force of Antiford. Uniforms, gear, weapons, riot protocol. He is also in charge of designing the enforcement procedures and the proper punishments for federal laws that are ratified. He decides not only how the Policing Force handles enforcement and apprehending crimes, but he gives a very wide window for the Judges to give punishments to infractions.

He is also in charge of most treason investigations on the internal level. Politicians, Department Chiefs, council members, federal level. If he is investigating you, that could ruin your political career.

The Technocratic Council appoints 2 candidates for the position of Chief Commander, the Houses appoint 1 candidate. The three candidates are then brought together with the Houses and the Technocratic Council and they are questioned four two hours each, then they debate for an hour. Afterwards, they vote. The winner (usually a Techoncrat candidate) then assumes the position until he dies or steps down. The current Chief Commander has been in charge since the revolution, when the last Commander stepped down.
