Bladed weapons are still prevalent in modern society on Orr. Many militaries still stock swords, daggers, axes, pikes, etc as well as many officers still being armed with sabers. There are still militaries around the globe who use signature or ceremonial weapons despite the rise of firearms.

It is not uncommon to find bladed gadgets in the modern arena as well. Sword canes and rapiers are still favored in high society and fencing and other forms of swordplay are still taught, trained, and practiced in many gentlemen clubs and secret societies. With technology as advanced as ever, many gadgets like bladed yo-yos, whips, and trick-blades are also found in use in closed circles.
