Common colloquialism for policeman.

Pre- and early post-revolution, police badges would be made of copper, giving them their other nick-name, "coppers".

Since then, the Technocracy has cut costs by making all new badges with tin. Tin-men, a harshly derogatory term, is used to infer that an officer has turned in his old badge for hollow patriotism, or that they are a dumb rookie.
